Frequently Asked Questions

Pool renovations typically take 2 weeks to complete. However, each renovation is unique and some may require additional time depending on how extensive your project is. Weather also plays a part in the equation, but being in-house allows us to adjust schedules to limit any time lost on our projects.

H&H has highly specialized teams. Each team meticulously crafting your reimagined pool throughout your renovation.

Our seasoned prep team kicks off the process by draining your pool and removing the tile and coping. The prep team is responsible for several stages in the process.

Following the prep team, our skilled masons will install tile and coping, and/or water features. This stage typically spans two to three days, ensuring detail and quality craftsmanship.

Once the masonry work is complete, our prep teams return to specifically work on surface prep. This is a critical step to ensure proper bonding of the new surface. All hollow areas are removed, and then the remaining surface is acid washed and a bond coat is installed in preparation for surface install.

The plaster team is then scheduled for the following day, and expect your team to arrive early. We encourage all clients to watch the process as they expertly install the plaster, they are highly skilled and amazing to watch!

If White Plaster is chosen, water is started immediately after install. Quartz requires an additional wash that afternoon and Pebble the following morning unless high temperatures allow an afternoon wash. Once washes are complete, water is started to refill your pool and you will be asked to keep the water on until completely filled.

Mastic application is typically the final step in the process. Before our team leaves, we chemically start the pool and ensure it is properly balanced so your newly renovated pool is ready for you to enjoy!
